Please download und install this Microsoft DirectX End-User Runtimes (June
2010). Not the web installer. After unpacking run the DXSETUP.exe.

When you download from http://www.qtav.org/ the QtAV-Player for Windows. Do you
have sound with this player?

Maik,

Warning, the QtAV official player must be compiled with MSVC and, if i remember
the QtAV code, the Windows deployment use ffmpeg pre-compiled dll. So it will
be difficult to compare directly with digiKam embedded QtAV.

open a file in an external QtAV player but there is no sound if I preview the
same file in digiKam. Mint KDE 18.1. Latest digikam 5.5 appimage

The problem in the AppImage is that no audio backends is found (e.g. Pulse).

digikam.general: AudioOutput backends: ("null")

Gilles,

No audio backends are found from QtAV in the AppImage. Do you need to install
sound support in CentOS?

I try to fix the problem using current QtAv implementation in digiKam Windows
installer. I just recompiled quickly the 32 bits bundle for testing.

Please test and give me a feedback. File is at usual place :

The video sound playback under Linux is now fixed with AppImage. Look this
report for details :

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=376952

The same fix have been applied to Windows installer. I need a feedback please
to validate this solution under Windows. The 5.5.0 Windows installer 32 and 64
bits is now up to date in usual GDrive repository :

Impossible. The configuration, under Linux, Windows, or MacOS is recorded in
home directory to a hidden folder.

But i remember that i renamed the ui rc XML files to prevent crash with
previous version (typically something goes wrong with KF5 libraries which
generate XML files).

So, yes, please reconfigure your toolbar.

"Restore ? Why you delete all previous customization ?"

I didn't deleted anything : when i install Digikam 5.5 i lose my customization.
When i go back to 5.4.0 or 5.3.0 i retreive it.

"So, yes, please reconfigure your toolbar"

Ok.

Bye
