Bug ID: 401816
Summary: Plasma-nm network refresh causes miss clicks on VPN
connection
Product: plasma-nm
Version: 5.14.4
Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: applet
Assignee: ***@redhat.com
Reporter: ***@mrvanes.com
Target Milestone: ---

Plasma-nm applet seems to force a refresh on available wireless networks when
opening the applet, which is nice but also causes me to miss-click the VPN
that's sorted on top and gets replaced by one of the wireless networks just as
I want to click on it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have VPN connection(s) configured in NM
2. Have multiple WL networks hanging around in the neighbourhood
3. Open Plasma-nm
4. Hover over the first available VPN connection
5. See the position being replaced as the applet refreshes the list of
available networks.
5. Hit or Miss click the VPN.

RESULT
Not allways, but very often VPN miss-click

EXPECTED RESULT
I don't know what the best approach would be, but maybe a static VPN region, or
top-sorting of VPN's may help here?

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: Kubuntu 18.10
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.4
Qt Version: 5.11.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.52.0
Kernel Version: 4.19.6
