there has been this discussion several times here, but no, numerical settings
aren't going to return, frankly it's like having to enter value in a
configuration window every time you want to resize a window

I respect your opinion but I don't feel that it is. Windows have to be resized
all the time, the panel is something that you normally set once and then leave
it like that for a looong time (or is there any usecase for dynamically
changing the panel size during the workflow?)

For me it would even be ok if that was something that I can set in a settings
file (and that will be respected and not changed again when switching themes).

While I liked the idea of resizing a window numerically, I understand the
point. But I believe adding the possibility to resize the panel numerically
wouldn't cause do any harm.

Currently there is no way of knowing the size of the panel. If there was a
textbox telling panel size in the "settings mode", it wouldn't be so bad to
have the options of editing that value numerically.

The current implementation (numerical size is shown while resizing) is good
enough for me. So the bug could be closed in my opinion. Should I do this?

Update: is this implementation really upstream or is it just an OpenSuse Patch?
If it is a patch can you apply it upstream as well?

I would like that feature too and I think it's an opensuse patch. Kubuntu here
doesn't have it.

For any user who makes extensive use of KDE SC having the possibility of resize
the panels numerically or _at least_ having the openSUSE patch implemented
upstream is a MUST.

+1 for having the ability to set the panel size numerically
+1 for having the panels shown their actual size while resizing.

Hello!

This feature request was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support
status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely
rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this
feature request is already implemented in Plasma 5, or is no longer applicable.

Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this feature request. If
the requested feature is still desired but not implemented in KDE Plasma 5.12
or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product
after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting

If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future
mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read
https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging

Thanks for your understanding!

Nate Graham
